Oh David Luiz. Arsenal have gotten used to seeing their centre-backs making costly mistakes – after all, the north London side have had to bare witness to Shkodran Mustafi in recent years.

But following his shock dead-line day arrival from rivals Chelsea, David Luiz has come into Unai Emery’s line-up from the second Premier League game of the season.

The Brazil international started again against Liverpool, and boy did he have a day to forget. The veteran centre-back was penalised for pulling back Mohamed Salah inside the penalty area, before getting torn apart for the Egyptian’s second goal just minutes later.

After seeing the 32-year-old’s horror performance, Arsenal fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the summer signing.

Many supporters of the north London side were fuming with the defender’s mistakes and suggested Chelsea had the right idea in selling him.

Indeed, some insisted Luiz could have no complaints, with one fan in particular claiming that the centre-back simply isn’t “good enough”.

Japhet Tanganga has been heavily involved in Tottenham Hotspur’s preparations for the 2019-20 campaign.

And it would be fair to say that the 20-year-old has impressed a whole host of Spurs supporters with his performances ahead of the new season.

The centre-back was a half-time replacement for Juan Foyth during the Audi Cup semi-final against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

And Tanganga helped his side pick up a clean sheet to ensure that Mauricio Pochettino’s team would advance to the final courtesy of a 1-0 win, with Harry Kane ultimately scoring the only goal of the match.

It remains to be seen whether the London-born ace is given the opportunity to make his mark for the first team during the 2019-20 season.

However, after putting in another solid performance against Zinedine Zidane’s side, a whole host of Tottenham fans have taken to social media to comment on the youngster’s potential.

Before we even get into this one, are there actually many Celtic fans out there who’d like to see the club sign Emanuel Adebayor? The Togolese striker is well past his best, although at the age 36 y/o The Sun claim six clubs want the hitman.

It just makes no sense. Emmanuel Adebayor has proven to be a problematic character before, with his infamous celebration for Manchester City when scoring against Arsenal back in 2009 the worst of the bunch. However, more recently he was also involved in a touchline scuffle in a fiery Istanbul derby against Galatasaray whilst playing for Istanbul Basaksehir, story by The Sun.

Now, though, at the age of 36-years-old, it looks like the Togo striker is still looking at one more move, and that move could see him rock up in Glasgow. According to the story, West Ham, Sheffield United and Watford are the Premier League trio looking at the free-agent, whilst Celtic and two unnamed Serie A clubs make up the interested parties.

We know that Parkhead is a place lacking many options up front other than Odsonne Edouard, although there are hopes that Leigh Griffiths may return to action for next season after Neil Lennon’s recent comments, via the BBC. However, getting in one more #9 would certainly not go amiss for the Bhoys.

Bringing in another young loanee like Timothy Weah probably isn’t the best way to go about signing a new striker either, so looking at a free agent or a cheap swoop for a goalscorer would be best, but Adebayor is everything that the Scottish Champions should be trying to avoid given that he only bagged three goals in 19 games in his final season in the Turkish Super Lig last season, stats via Transfermarkt.

Neil Lennon has had some howlers in the transfer market before in his previous spell with Celtic as he spent relatively big money on Efrain Juarez, Derk Boerrigter, Teemu Pukki and Mohamed Bangura, via Transfermarkt, all of whom went onto flop. Adebayor, though, could be the worst of the bunch if he was to come in, and Lennon will have to evaluate if this signing is one that he really wants to make.

Leicester have made some huge transfer blunders in recent years. Signing Islam Slimani for a club record £29m and Kelechi Iheanacho for £25m are both right up there.

However, they also made a questionable call in selling Andrej Kramaric, which judging by the striker’s form for Hoffenheim this season, appears to be coming back to bite them.

At the moment he’d represent the perfect man to take some of the heat off Jamie Vardy, but unfortunately for the Foxes, he no longer belongs to the Midlands outfit.

After an article surfaced on The Leicester Mercury, the King Power faithful reflected upon what now looks like an awful call to get rid of him.

One fan went as far as describing it as potentially one of the biggest mistakes in Leicester’s history whilst another claimed he’d take the Croatian back tomorrow.

A further supporter suggested the 27-year-old should now be playing up front with Vardy. Another member of the Leicester fanbase labelled him better than Iheanacho.

Kramaric has been in fine goalscoring form in Germany this season, scoring 22 times in all competitions at club level. That included five strikes in the Champions League. Last term he found the net on 13 occasions in the Bundesliga.

Jamie Murphy can be like a new signing when he returns to Ibrox next season. Indeed, the exciting winger will love the opportunity to play under Steven Gerrard, having told The National of his obvious excitement upon the former England captain’s appointment almost a year ago now. 

The knee injury that kept him out of all but two games of Scottish Premiership this season prevented Gers fans from seeing what he’s really capable of when he’s settled at a club for a long period of time but things will get much for the former Brighton man, valued at a fairly impressive £1.13m by Transfermarkt.

They simply have to.

He was impressive on loan there between January and May last season, scoring six goals and assisting 11, but he was expected to push on and really become a key man when Gerrard arrived in summer. He’s not had that chance, but next year he’ll prove what the Gers missed this term.

The 29-year-old is now in his prime and will be raring to go out and prove why his move was made permanent last summer. He could even be the perfect man to replace Ryan Kent if he doesn’t return from Liverpool.

He’s already shown he has the ability to perform under the pressure of playing for Rangers, but now he has the chance to prove it wasn’t just a one-off half season and that he’s got the ability to nail down a spot across a whole campaign.

Gers fans should obviously be excited about new signings, but they should look forward to seeing Jamie Murphy back even more. He’ll get Ibrox on its feet once again and relish working under Steven Gerrard for longer than the two games he’s played this season.

وقال ناصر ماهر أثناء استضافته ببرنامج “الماتش” المذاع على قناة “صدى البلد”: “سعيد بعودتي للأهلي وأردت إثبات نفسي وتحديت بالرجوع للفريق من جديد منذ بداية الموسم، وكنت أعلم أنني سأعود مرة أخرى لكن لم أتوقع ذلك الآن”.

وأضاف: “مسئولو بيراميدز تواصلوا معي بشكل شخصي لكني كنت أرغب بالاستمرارية والمشاركة بشكل أكثر، لذلك فضلت عرض سموحة”.

Leeds United face Aston Villa on Sunday in a match that could easily be a preview of the Championship play-off final in May.

The Whites now look likely to miss out on automatic promotion as they sit three points behind Sheffield United with just two games of the season to go.

Despite the temptation to rotate players to have a fully-fit squad for the lottery that is the play-offs, Marcelo Bielsa would be a fool to not play his strongest XI this weekend.

Even though he has stuck to his guns previously, the Argentine manager will surely feel tempted to make changes at Elland Road on Sunday.

The Yorkshire club have endured a barrage of injuries this season and he will be desperate to head into the play-offs with a squad that is fit and ready.

Of course, Leeds have still got an outside chance at automatic promotion but if they’re is being realistic then they will have to win at Wembley if they are to make their way to the Premier League.

Play the best side

United have to play their strongest XI against the Midlands club on Sunday, not only to keep their automatic promotion dreams alive but to give them the best possible preparation for the play-offs.

Dean Smith’s side are on a record-breaking winning run at the moment and have secured their spot in the top six.

Due to their good form and league position, Villa are Leeds’ most likely opponents should they get to the final and if the Whites are to topple the Midlands outfit, then they have to go back to what Bielsa does best.

The Championship learnt the hard way that the 63-year-old is a master of preparation. The manager has resorted to spying, creating documents and extensive scouting to gain an advantage over opponents this season.

Sunday’s game presents a golden opportunity for the 63-year-old to learn everything he needs to know about his opponents without using any of his usual tactics.

In a season where Leeds gained infamy for spying on the opposition, they have the chance to examine their potential play-off final opponents weeks before the fixture even happens. That plan only works however if Bielsa treats this game in the same way he would treat their meeting at Wembley, by playing his strongest side.
