أعلن المدرب الإسباني، بيب جوارديولا، المدير الفني لنادي مانشستر سيتي، تشكيل فريقه الرسمي، لمباراة مانشستر يونايتد في الديربي، بالدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

مانشستر سيتي يستقبل نظيره مانشستر يونايتد على ملعب “الاتحاد”، وتنطلق المباراة في تمام الساعة السادسة والنصف بتوقيت القاهرة، السابعة والنصف بتوقيت مكة المكرمة، وذلك ضمن فعاليات الجولة الثامنة والعشرين من البريميرليج.

According to a report by reliable journalist Mike McGrath, writing for the Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are in ‘pole position to land’ Lyon powerhouse Joachim Andersen.

The Lowdown: Levy’s centre-back hunt continues…

It is no secret that Spurs are looking into signing top class centre-back options for the 2021/2022 season as Daniel Levy looks to shore up a problem position for the Lilywhites ahead of the appointment of a new manager.

Sky Sports have previously touted the likes of Jerome Boateng and Jannik Vestergaard as on the target list, going as far as to say that inquiries have already been made.

Andersen has been mentioned elsewhere, with reliable football.london correspondent Alasdair Gold saying he is indeed on the agenda.

The Latest: Tottenham in ‘pole position’

Now, another reliable source has detailed the situation regarding Andersen, with McGrath now claiming that Levy and Spurs are in ‘pole position’ for the 6 foot 3 powerhouse.

Having impressed for Fulham on loan this season, he has attracted attention from both Tottenham and north London rivals Arsenal – with Mikel Arteta’s side ready to compete for his signature.

He is apparently expected to move on from Lyon in the summer for around £20 million but Spurs need to trim their squad before making the move.

Andersen has been one of Scott Parker’s most notable assets in a disappointing season for the Cottagers as the 24-year-old averages the joint-fourth most clearances per 90 in the Premier League over 2020/2021 (WhoScored).

He has also won more aerial duels than any Fulham player this season (WhoScored), earning praise from Craven Cottage legend Tony Gale as a result – who called him ‘absolutely sensational’ earlier in the campaign (fulhamfc.com).

Still at a fairly young age and valued at an arguably affordable price in a market likely to be majorly influenced by coronavirus, he could become a tremendous coup for Tottenham depending on next developments.

Many Everton fans have been left buzzing after a transfer update has emerged on Wojciech Szczesny.

As per Tutto Juve, the Goodison Park faithful could make a proposal to sign the Juventus ace, but are willing to offer no more than €10m (£8.7m) to the Serie A side.

Nonetheless, £8.7m for a goalkeeper of that pedigree and experience should certainly be a deal that the Merseyside club should be keeping their eyes on.

Not only is Szczesny playing for one of the biggest and best teams in European football, but he is also very experienced at international level, with no fewer than 52 caps in total for Poland.

Having previously played for Arsenal as well, the 31-year-old would not have to adapt to the Premier League, and could be a worthy addition to Carlo Ancelotti’s team to compete with or deputise for Jordan Pickford at a very reasonable cost.

Às vésperas da primeira partida da semifinal da Série C do Campeonato Brasileiro, o Guarani mantém sob sigilo a equipe que entrará em campo neste domingo, às 21h, diante do ABC, no Frasqueirão. Para o técnico Marcelo Chamusca, o Bugre, que já garantiu o acesso à Segundona, passa a ter um novo objetivo: garantir o título da Terceira Divisão nacional.

– (O acesso) Não pode servir para nós como relaxamento ou zona de conforto. Todos sabemos que existia o objetivo inicial, mas sabemos a importância dessa conquista, de mais um título e mais uma estrela na camisa do Guarani – afirmou o técnico Marcelo Chamusca, antes do embarque para Natal.

Em um bom momento com a equipe de Campinas, o treinador aproveitou para falar sobre sua situação contratual. Segundo ele, o clube precisa apenas garantir alguns pontos para que o trabalho prossiga em 2017.Chamusca ainda revelou que já houve uma conversa inicial para tratar da renovação.

– Já conversei com o presidente e ele mostrou interesse na permanência. A resposta que dei publicamente foi o que falei para ele. Estou aberto a conversar, mas não é só a questão de valorização financeira. Isso é a última coisa que me preocupa.Minha preocupação é em relação ao projeto, o que o Guarani vai fazer de diferente em 2017 para manter essa qualidade de trabalho -afirmou, complementando:

Contra o ABC, o Guarani tem a difícil missão de por fim ao jejum de quatro jogos, fora de casa, sem vencer a equipe da capital do Rio Grande do Norte. Assim como o Bugre, Geninho, técnico do time potiguar, também fez mistério com a escalação. A tendência, no entanto, é que os treinadores repitam as últimas formações contra ASA e Botafogo-SP, respectivamente.

A partida de volta será disputada no dia 23 de outubro, em Campinas. A princípio, o jogo acontecerá às 21h, no entanto, há possibilidades de mudança, já que o Bugre entrou com pedido na CBF para alterar o horário do duelo para às 18h.

Celtic’s pursuit of Eddie Howe has seemed to have taken a hit in recent days.

Reports had suggested that a deal for the former Bournemouth boss would be announced this week, however, that hasn’t come to fruition.

Howe’s representative moved to play down an imminent move to Parkhead on Wednesday, revealing the 43-year-old has no plans to return to the dugout until the summer.

Nixon replies to Howe-related tweet

Well-known reporter Alan Nixon, who writes for The Sun, has now responded to a question on Twitter, where he was asked what has changed for Howe and a move to Glasgow.

Nixon replied:

“A lot of panic over an anonymous quote… if he’s playing games to get his own men in that’s a risk… if he’s a bottler you’re better off finding that out now.”

Transfer Tavern take

Nixon’s comment ‘playing games to get his own men in’ is likely related to Richard Hughes.

Celtic want to bring in a director of football ahead of the summer, and it seems as if Howe wants to take Hughes (Daily Record) from Bournemouth.

Whether or not that is a deal-breaker remains to be seen, but it appears as if both the Hoops and Howe are reluctant to rush negotiations.

To us, that is the right decision, based on the fact Neil Lennon was offered the permanent Parkhead job in the shower back in 2019.

A more professional approach is underway this time around, which, in the long run, should be beneficial.

وتحدث رانجنيك، مدرب مانشستر يونايتد، قبل مواجهة وست هام يوم السبت في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

يدخل الشياطين الحمر المباراة بقوة بعد فوزهم على برينتفورد في آخر مرة، والنصر سيعزز فرصهم في تأمين مركز مؤهل لدوري أبطال أوروبا.

في حديثه قبل المباراة مع وست هام، تطرق رانجنيك للحديث عن غضب رونالدو لحظة استبداله، وقال في تصريحاته التي نشرها الموقع الرسمي لـ “سكاي سبورتس”: “أعتقد أننا يجب ألا نثير الكثير من الجلبة من ذلك”.

وأضاف: “شرحت له خلال المباراة، تلك المحادثة القصيرة وأخبرته نفس ما قلته للتو في هذا المؤتمر الصحفي”.

وتابع الألماني: “مهمة المدير الفني هي مساعدة فريقه على الفوز بالمباريات وبعد المباراة في فيلا بارك كان من الواضح أنه يتعين علينا القيام بالأمور بشكل أفضل”.

واستطرد مدرب مانشستر يونايتد: “هذه المرة فعلوا ذلك بشكل أفضل، كان السؤال الوحيد من الذي سنستبدله؟”.

وعلّق: “رونالدو صنع الهدف الثاني لبرونو فيرنانديز، كانت هذه إحدى الجمل التكتيكية ومن أفضل المواقف لدينا في المباراة”.

وأردف: “تجبرك كرة القدم على اتخاذ القرار في الوقت المناسب، لم تكن هذه هي المرة الأولى التي يتم فيها استبداله في حياته المهنية، لاعب مثل كريستيانو رونالدو لا يحب أن يتم استبداله، وهذا بالنسبالي طبيعي، كان رد فعله عاطفيًا وأتفهم ذلك هذه ليست مشكلة”.

وتابع: “دربت لاعبين آخرين ربما ليست أسماء كبيرة مثل كريستيانو لكن لاعبين كبار مثل بالاك، راؤول في شالكة، أعرف كيف يتفاعل اللاعبون الهجوميون مع هذا”.

وأتم: “لكن الأمر يتعلق أيضًا بالنقاط، كل المباريات لها أهمية كبيرة، الفريق أهم من أي شخص آخر، سواء كريستيانو أو كافاني أو برونو، تم استبدال برونو فرنانديز ولم يكن راضيًا، ولكن ما يهم هو مصالحة الفريق والنادي”.

Esta quarta-feira reservou uma boa notícia para os torcedores cruzeirenses: os meias Elber e Alisson voltaram a trabalhar com bola após longo tempo parados. Apesar do treinamento, o departamento médico ainda não deu previsão do retorno da dupla.

Alisson não atua pelo Cruzeiro desde o dia 6 de julho, quando o Cruzeibro bateu o Vitória por 2 a 1, no Barradão, pela Copa do Brasil. Mesmo com este tempo ausente, o camisa 11 ainda é o vice-artilheiro do nesta temporada Cruzeiro com sete gols.

Já o tempo ausente de Elber é um pouco maior. A última partida dele também foi contra o Vitória, mas três dias antes, e em jogo válido pela 13° rodada do Brasileirão.

O próximo compromisso do Cruzeiro é neste domingo, às 11h, diante do Santa Cruz, no Mineirão. A Raposa é o 16°, com 23 pontos.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic ahead of next season and the 23-year-old could prove to be the ideal addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad in the summer.

What’s the word?

According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Max Bielefeld on Twitter, both Liverpool and Manchester United have been ‘in touch’ with Fiorentina for the defender, with Borussia Dortmund also showing an interest.

Would he be a good signing?

The Reds have been low on centre-back options since Dejan Lovren was allowed to leave last summer, with no replacement brought in for the Croatian international, leaving just Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez as natural options at centre-back in Klopp’s side.

All three have subsequently suffered long-term injuries this season, forcing Klopp into playing the likes of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson in defence, whilst promoting youngsters Nathaniel Phillips and Rhys Williams into the first-team.

Whilst Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies were brought in during the January transfer window, these are arguably short-term options for the Reds, especially considering they have no obligation to make the Turkish international’s loan move from Schalke permanent in the summer.

Therefore, it is no surprise to hear that they are reportedly interested in Milenkovic, as the Serbian continues to impress in Serie A.

So far this season, the centre-back has made 21 appearances in the Italian top-flight, contributing two goals and averaging a solid 6.91 rating.

Standing at 6 ft 5, it is obvious that the defender is a big threat aerially, as he has impressively averaged 3.5 won aerials per game in Serie A this season, whilst he also contributed five goals last season.

In Kabak’s two Premier League appearances thus far, the 20-year-old has averaged a less than impressive 5.93 rating, so unless he wins Klopp over with his performances in the rest of the season, it is difficult to see the Reds making his stay a permanent one.

Therefore, they will definitely need to bring in another centre-back option, unless they want a repeat of the major issues they have had in defence this season, and Milenkovic could prove to be a superb option.

Back in 2018, Milenkovic’s former coach Ivan Tomic described the defender as a “beast”, whereas journalist Dejan Stankovic had this to say about him:

“He is the most talented centre-back Serbia have had since Vidic, and they definitely have one thing in common – both are fearless.”

Milenkovic is clearly held in high regard and if he can live up to this potential, then there seems no reason why he wouldn’t be a success at Liverpool should he make the move to Anfield in the summer.

Os valores dos bonecos de Rogério Ceni ainda não foram divulgados. Para o evento, o São Paulo exigiu credenciamento antecipado dos jornalistas, procedimento incomum no dia a dia do clube.

Desde a aposentadoria de Ceni, o goleiro Denis assumiu a meta tricolor e ganhou, inclusive, a faixa de capitão da equipe. Questionado, o técnico Edgardo Bauza confirmou que a braçadeira fica com o camisa 1 em razão do alto números de partidas do arqueiro como titular.

Premier League side Wolves have now cooled their interest in signing Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in the ongoing January transfer window.

It has been stated that Nuno Santo initially was looking to move for Giroud this month, but it now seems as if the club will not look to sign the Frenchman in the January transfer window.

Wolves cool interest in Giroud

The Mirror have recently published a report about Wolves’ interest in signing a striker in January. The report states that Nuno has now aborted the club’s hunt for Giroud as they have been told that the club can’t make a big signing this month.

The manager has reportedly been told to use the resources he has in his team as the club’s owners Fosun International aren’t looking to spend big in January, as they spent around £70million in the summer. Nuno did initially want to move for Giroud and Liverpool’s Divock Origi because of Raul Jimenez’s injury.

Patrick Cutrone was recalled from his loan spell at Fiorentina though and he featured for Wolves in their recent FA Cup game against Crystal Palace.

In December last year, Frank Lampard had praised Giroud for his abilities: “He is the ultimate professional, and I think he’s done that through his career. I think that’s why with Oli you see his numbers for France and in the Champions League.

“He wasn’t always a regular before I got here, but as soon as I came in I could feel the positivity off him as a player, how he wants to train, how he wants to affect people whether he starts or not.”

Giroud is a World Cup winner and he has also won the FA Cup four times. In the current campaign, the Frenchman has scored nine times in all competitions for the Blues, so could this be a mistake from Fosun?

Nuno forced to make do

While Giroud does have a reliable goalscoring record in the Premier League, it seems as if Nuno will have to move forward with what he has.

Cutrone struggled for goals during his time at La Viola and Fabio Silva is yet to score from open play in all competitions for Wolves this season. While Jimenez has returned to light training, Wolves will need Cutrone and Silva to step up until the Mexico star is fully recovered, and their recent goalscoring records suggest that isn’t overly likely.

So it isn’t good news for Wolves fans that the owners won’t spend this month, and it could well come back to haunt Nuno unless Cutrone or Silva can show something they haven’t shown thus far in an Old Gold shirt.
