Com o vitória, o time Sub-15 encerrou a primeira fase da competição na segunda colocação do Grupo 8. Apesar do empate, o Sub-17 se manteve na liderança do mesmo grupo.

O Alvinegro estará no Grupo 16 na segunda fase, contra Paulista, Noroeste e Francana. O Paulistão Sub-17 só volta em agosto. Na próxima quinta (11), às 16h30, no SESC Campestre, em Porto Alegre, o time encara o Grêmio pelo jogo de volta da semifinal do Brasileirão Sub-17.

Já o Sub-15, terá um curto período de férias antes de voltar à ativa. A equipe de Parque São Jorge ficou no Grupo 12, ao lado de Noroeste, Primavera e Portuguesa Santista.

However, with only one team getting relegated from the top groups, the teams started facing more or less the same oppositions, albeit from different zones.What the new format did was to give a new context to intra-zonal rivalries. The annual Maharashtra derby between Mumbai and Maharashtra became a rare proposition, with Mumbai placed in the top tier and an inconsistent Maharashtra languishing in the bottom tier for a better part of the last decade.The rivalry couldn’t have asked for a better stage than the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal to be renewed after a gap of six years. Despite Zaheer Khan’s return to Mumbai line-up, Maharashtra are confident that they can not only compete but overcome their fancied rivals. Considering both the teams’ campaigns so far this season, Maharashtra have every reason to believe it is their best chance to beat Mumbai in a knockout match for the first time.While Maharashtra qualified for the knockouts with a game to spare, though it was from Group C, Mumbai had to overcome Gujarat in a must-win league game last week to make it to the last eight. If Maharashtra can deal with Zaheer’s bowling, then they can hope to continue their recent trend of having the upper hand against arch rivals Mumbai at the Wankhede.

Two politicial heavyweights from Maharashtra, including chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, have expressed their interest in taking the plunge into Mumbai Cricket Association’s administration.On Monday, a day before the clubs’ deadline for submitting their respective representative for the MCA elections to be held on October 18, Chavan was nominated by Mazgaon Cricket Club. ESPNcricinfo understands that Stylo Cricketers, another cricket club affiliated with the MCA, is set to pronounce Gopinath Munde, the Bhartiya Janata Party’s (the principal opposition) deputy leader in Lok Sabha, as their representative for the elections.It was the Mazgaon Cricket Club that had nominated former Maharashtra chief minister and union minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, whose death in July 2012 had paved the way for Ravi Savant to be the interim president for the last 14 months. Despite their political rivalry, Chavan and Munde are likely to join hands for the MCA elections.While MCA old-timers believe it is a matter of time before Chavan announces his intentions “to be the next MCA president”, the Mazgaon CC secretary Shahalam Shaikh said Chavan hadn’t made up his mind yet. “Chavan agreed to fill in the void created by Deshmukh’s untimely death and represent our club at the MCA elections,” Shaikh told ESPNcricinfo. “Whether to contest or not is entirely his own decision and he hasn’t yet conveyed it to us till now.”It is expected that while Chavan will file papers for the president’s post, Munde will contest for one of the two vice-presidents’ posts. If at all Chavan faces resistance, it will be from another political heavyweight Sharad Pawar, the former MCA, BCCI and ICC chief. Though Chavan’s and Pawar’s political parties run an alliance government in the state of Maharashtra, both the leaders have waged a war of words against each other of late.It is expected that Chavan and Pawar will strike “some sort of a deal” ahead of the elections, but the Bal Mahaddalkar panel, a powerful group in MCA, stood firm behind Pawar. “As of now, Pawar has made his intentions clear of returning to the MCA and we firmly back him as our leader,” Nitin Dalal, MCA joint secretary, said just after the panel’s first official meeting with voters.If elected, Chavan and Munde will join a long list of political figures heading various cricket boards in India. Seven of BCCI’s 27 affiliated units are headed by political figures. The MCA, one of the most prestigious provincial cricket bodies in the world, too has had a long tradition of politicians at the head. Barring the exception of former Test cricketer Madhav Mantri (1987-88 to January 92) and Savant (August 2012 till date as interim president), all the presidents over the last 50 years have been politicians.While Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aditya are already voters in MCA along with senior state minister Narayan Rane, Nitin Sardesai, a member of legislative assembly from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, will represent Dadar Parsi Zorastrian Cricket Club.MCA’s biennial elections have been delayed by three months and are slated to be held on October 18. The last date for filing nominations is October 11. The MCA elections are held for president, two vice-presidents, two joint secretaries, treasurer and 11 managing committee members.

England do not make life easy for themselves in knockout tournaments, but they secured their passage to the Champions Trophy semi-finals through a collectively impressive performance from the bowlers which followed a brisk innings from Alastair Cook after the weather had threatened to leave their hopes in Australia’s hands.But even as England were heaping pressure on New Zealand’s top order as they chased 170 in 24 overs, the weather still loomed. Rain, which had caused a five-hour delay after the toss, was creeping over the Bristol Channel and although the chase was behind the rate, if the match had been abandoned before 20 overs New Zealand would have gone through and England would have needed a favour from Australia on Monday.The 20th over, sent down by the peerless James Anderson, itself included more drama when Corey Anderson, who was added to New Zealand’s squad on the morning of the match as a replacement for Grant Elliott, appeared to injure his calf after aborting a run and spent several minutes receiving treatment which did not impress Ashley Giles and David Saker on the England balcony.Still, even after Anderson had completed the over there could have been another twist. O técnico sabe que não contará com todos os atletas para a atividade, mas poderá acompanhar em simulação de jogo alguns dos reforços para 2019, e aqueles que voltaram de empréstimo, como Juninho e Erik.

Na quarta, a atividade aberta para os jornalistas deu uma ideia do time que pode começar a temporada, montado só com jogadores que conquistaram o Brasileiro: Weverton, Mayke, Luan, Gustavo Gómez, Diogo Barbosa, Felipe Melo, Thiago Santos, Lucas Lima, Dudu e Deyverson.

Bruno Henrique, que trabalhou em outra equipe nesse dia, é o candidato a assumir a vaga do camisa 5. Resta saber quem substituirá Willian, que se recupera de uma cirurgia no joelho direito. Ao menos neste começo de trabalho, a parte física deve ter influência na escolha.

Isto porque oito atletas contam com um cuidado específico do Núcleo de Saúde e Performance na pré-temporada: Fabiano e Raphael Veiga se apresentaram com dores no púbis por desgaste acumulado de 2018, enquanto Edu Dracena, Moisés e Jean terão uma programação de treinos físicos mais longa, como já ocorreu em 2018. Além disso, há com Allione o cuidado por conta de dores no joelho direito, e Guerra está sendo preparado para ficar com um corpo ainda mais atlético, assim como Yan.

Esta programação diferente para os oito não os tira de todas as atividades no campo, tanto que na tarde de sexta eles estavam no gramado aquecendo, durante o pedaço do trabalho aberto à imprensa. Só em algumas atividades, eles não ficam com o grupo e realizam um cronograma individualizado.

Felipão já afirmou que alguns dos citados não devem ter condições de jogar a estreia do Paulista, contra o Red Bull, dia 20 de janeiro. Pelo regulamento do Estadual, até o dia 17 o clube precisará ter inscritos pelo menos os atletas que atuarão nesta partida, podendo completar a lista até o dia 1º de março. A competição será intensa.

-Vai sobrar gente. Tenho de analisar as caraterísticas e, quem sobrar, sobrou, Não existe fórmula mágica. Tem de ser o mais simples, adaptar jogadores a cada jogo, sistema e adversário para colocar em campo. E ir trabalhando com simplicidade com os atletas e mostrando que é assim que trabalharemos nos seis primeiros meses. Quem não entender, teremos um problema normal no grupo. Não tem só rosa, tem espinhos que precisamos organizar – falou Scolari.

Punjab overhauled Jharkhand’s first-innings total of 401 on a wicket that didn’t have anything in it for the bowlers to all but ensure themselves of a semi-final showdown against Saurashtra with a day to spare in Jamshedpur. Only two wickets fell, as Jiwanjot Singh and Taruwar Kohli helped themselves to centuries, while Mandeep Singh fell four short of his ton.Starting the penultimate day 251 adrift of Jharkhand’s total with nine wickets in hand, it was imperative for Punjab to see off the first hour. Jiwanjot, overnight on 77, scored his fifth first-class century – in his maiden season – with a single to the covers off the medium-pacer Shankar Rao.Jiwanjot was set for a big haul, with an eye on CM Gautam’s tally of 943 runs. However, it took a special delivery to leave the Punjab opener 28 runs shy of reclaiming the top spot in the highest run-getter’s tally. Jharkhand captain Shahbaz Nadeem, who toiled without much success, bowled an arm ball that Jiwanjot failed to read and shouldered arms, only to lose his middle stump. It ended Jiwanjot’s chanceless knock that lasted almost six hours.Mandeep walked in with Punjab still 170 behind. But Kohli and Mandeep curbed their aggression to help Punjab pass the Jharkhand total without any hassles. Though both youngsters never failed to put away the loose balls, neither of them attempted to manufacture shots. It prevented them from being bogged down under pressure.The forbearance on display was remarkable, especially from Kohli. One of the stars of India’s triumphant Under-19 World Cup campaign in 2008, Kohli was making a comeback to Punjab’s senior side after more than a year. Playing his first game of the season, he restrained himself from taking any risk that could have breached the faith that was placed on him by the team management. Both Jiwanjot and Kohli would have impressed the national selector Roger Binny, who had been watching for the last two days.”It was difficult to control myself, especially with the wicket just not doing anything. But I was constantly reminding myself that I should not let myself down with a false stroke. I had to make the most of this opportunity,” Kohli said. He not only raised his second first-class hundred but also remained unbeaten, having surpassed his previous best of 118.Once the duo had guided Punjab to a safe 341 for 2 at tea, Kohli and Mandeep started playing more freely. Mandeep was the first to change gears, targeting Rao with two boundaries on either side of the wicket in the third over after tea. Kohli then dispatched the offspinner Sunny Gupta over long-on for a six.Punjab overhauled Jharkhand’s total the first ball after the final drinks break, when Kohli pulled Nadeem for a boundary through midwicket. Then on, the only interest in the game was if Mandeep could reach his second hundred of the season before stumps. It wasn’t to be. Facing the part-timer Manish Vardhan, bowling the last over of the day, he pulled the first ball ferociously to Ishank Jaggi, who pouched a sharp chance at short midwicket to deprive Mandeep a deserving ton. Though the day ended on a high for Jharkhand, it came a little too late for the home team.

وكانت لجنة الانضباط التابعة لـ فيفا، قد أعلنت تمديد عقوبات الاتحاد الإيطالي لكرة القدم، الخاصة بـ فابيو باراتيشي، حيث لم يقتصر على إيقافه في إطار كرة القدم الإيطالية، بل إيقافه عن العمل بأي شكل في لعبة كرة القدم في جميع أنحاء العالم.

واُتخذ ذلك القرار قبل جلسة استئناف باراتيشي ضد عقوبات فيفا، في 19 أبريل 2023.

وأوضح توتنهام أنه نظرًا لقرار فيفا غير المتوقع، ونظرًا لأنه قد يكون للعقوبات تأثير من الناحية القضائية، ورغم أن الأمر لا يزال مرتبطًا باستئناف، فإن باراتيشي وافق مع النادي على التنحي عن منصبه بشكل مؤقت في انتظار نتيجة استئنافه.

ويعود الأمر إلى عقوبة إيقاف باراتيشي عن مزاولة أي نشاط يتعلق بكرة القدم لمدة عامين ونصف، على خلفية إدانة يوفنتوس، الذي كان يعمل به قبل انتقاله إلى توتنهام بعد ذلك.

وواجه يوفنتوس تهمة التجاوازت المالية والإدارية، وإيقاف عدد من أعضائه السابقين والحاليين، وخصم 15 نقطة من رصيده الحالي في الدوري الإيطالي.
